we are about  building sustainable communities and inspiring low carbon initiatives

The Pines Calyx is far more than a conference centre and events venue. It acts as the centre point of an emergent Centre for Sustainable Living and a hub for sustainable enterprise in Kent, with activities and projects centred around the emerging low carbon economy and include building low carbon communities, sustainable projects and environmental education.

thinking colaboratively and minimising the use of natural resourses

From the beginning our aim was to make the Pines Calyx a place which would inspire and motivate people. It has become a ‘show and tell’ example of how individuals and small low carbon projects can make a difference in shaping the way we can live and work sustainably.

eliminating the use of carbon wherever possible

To be a symbol the Pines Calyx could not compromise in design, construction management or operation. This vision has generated a host of low carbon initiatives and the building itself has become a catalyst for innovation for sustainability in Kent and the South East. Our logic is simple. Sustainability makes sense. It has generated a way of working linking our commercial activity with the health of both people and the environment.

"The Low Carbon Technologies Explored event was simply the best of its kind I’ve been to in the past few years: passionate, cutting edge, inspiring and – above all – practical. With the beautiful venue and setting at the superb Pines Calyx centre, this Sustainability Explored Series is now a firm “must attend” in my calendar – one of precious few in a sea of mediocre sustainability and climate change events across the country." Thurstan Crockett Head of Environmental Policy and Sustainability, Brighton and Hove City Council

The Pines Calyx has stimulated connections, relationships and networks simply by being a symbol for sustainability. The building itself has become a hub of initiatives and activities reaching far beyond its walls.
